Dear Friends,
Summer. Leisure. Relaxation. Halcyon tranquility. Arcadian landscapes. Summer brings with it both a bit of rest, with some hectic movement sprinkled in for variety. The brothers of the Dominican House of Studies have just been scattered to the four winds, and the five friars just ordained begin their priestly ministry across the Province of St. Joseph. Whether it comes with the quiet of St. Rose in Springfield, Kentucky, or the hustle and bustle of St. Vincent Ferrer in New York City, a change of pace is good for the soul.
The change of season brings with it a modest change of pace for this blog as well. In June and August, we will continue to have two posts each week. The Friday posts will be our normal reflections and meditations by student brothers, while the Tuesday posts will see the brothers review books, music albums, or movies you might find interesting. The blog will take a short break for most of the month of July, picking up near the feast of Saint Dominic, when all the student brothers have reconvened in Washington.
As summer’s more relaxed pace settles in, be assured of our prayers for you, our readers. Please keep us in your prayers as well!
Your brothers in Christ,
The Editors of Dominicana
